Warm water and soap usually work well. You also can dab with a small amount of rubbing alcohol.

Our American Eskimo likes the Cool Pet Pad but isn't crazy about it whereas a larger water based pad seemed to work better, (except it leaked a bit).
This pad is build a bit better with well finished edge seams.
It comes all folded up for shipping and this puts creases in the pad, which don't ever seem to go away. The creases is where the OTHER pad started to leak but so far, this one is good.
